DISABLED INFORMATION Blagdon Farm was designed from the outset to be disabled friendly, especially where accessibility is a priority, and has been awarded an accessibility grading on all cottages of M3A, M3I for Wagtail - the highest achievable. The second objective was to create this within a luxurious environment. This too has been achieved and Blagdon Farm has been been awarded either a 4 or 5 star by Visit Britain on all its cottages. In addition to being recommended by many specialist organisations as a truly accessible holiday complex, we have also been awarded an Excellence Award under the Tourism for All category in recognition of our excellence in providing Holidays for ALL. We hope that we may have the privilege of helping you enjoy your holiday too. Who stays at Blagdon Farm? All the guests we welcome here are ordinary couples, groups or families who enjoy a luxurious, calming and peaceful environment but where one or more member has a mobility problem. We are very popular with those guests with MS and guests who have mobility problems following a spinal injury. Some guests suffer from Muscular Dystrophy and others various mobility related conditions.
Who is Blagdon Farm Suitable for? For individuals, couples, groups or families where mobility may be an issue. All the cottages are adjoining, single storey and have all been designed to be fully wheelchair friendly with extra-wide doorways, wheel-in showers, with shower chairs,
accessible light switches and easy to use kitchens with a lowered preparation area. They have large balconies with wide patio doors enabling guests to sit outside and enjoy the views over the lake and the forests and fields beyond. Wagtail cottage has been designed with a special low kitchen enabling the independent wheelchair user to do their own food preparation. There are no steps and each cottage has its own adjacent level parking space. The grounds include a hard-surfaced nature trail of nearly a mile in length which takes in the lake as well as passing through some open fields and our orchard. These are wheelchair accessible and there are also plenty of seats around to rest on.
